Electoral Behaviour, Political Attitudes, and Political Representation
Welcome to my personal website! I am pleased that you are interested in learning more about me and my work.
I am a political scientist, currently employed as Lorenz-von-Stein Research Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) since October 2024.
My research interests focus on:
- Electoral behaviour, political attitudes, and participation
- Political representation and political parties
- Sexual and gender minorities‘ identities
- Political sociology
- Political culture and democracy research
If you are interested in discussing any of these topics, I would be glad to hear from you.
I am the principal investigator of two ongoing projects: the German Sexual Identity and Election Study (DFG-funded) and the VisibleQueers project (ERC Starting Grant).
Previously, I was a substitute professor of Comparative Politics at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, a postdoctoral researcher at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, and a research associate at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Additionally, I have held teaching appointments at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the University of Mainz.
In January 2026, I was elected by the Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as an expert member of the Board of Trustees of the State Agency for Civic Education of North Rhine-Westphalia.
I also serve as a board member of the German Political Science Association (DVPW).
